Seven Speakers

One Enchanting day

Introducing our first 'Annual Festival of Story Telling' inspired by the Germanic world and its peoples. This year, we will listen as the voices of our Bronze-Age, Welsh, Norse, Slavic, Finnish, and 'Northern Enlightenment' ancestors speak to us of long forgotten myths of creation.

This promises to be an amazing day

About our Festival

Welcome to the Festival of Northern-European Storytelling

In this 'Festival of Storytelling' we celebrate stories, myths and folktales reaching back through the veils of time, bringing forth wisdom for today

Why?

In our 26/9, fast-paced world, with its ever increasing demands upon our very beings, few of us have time to simply sit, gaze into into the fires of the elder-days, and hear stories from long-lost worlds, and long-lost times.

Today, you are invited to simply pull up a log, sit for a while by the fire, and take time to open your ears and heart to stories. In the telling, these stories we connect to the past, our past, reminding us of who we are.

Our first festival brings together ancient voices from across the Germanic world (and her sister nations) telling of one profound story; the story of creation itself. Told from different perspectives these stories help us to connect to our ancestors and gain insights into understand not only them, but ourselves.

Why Stories Matter Now More than Ever?

In today’s digital age, the ancient tradition of storytelling offers something unique - connection. Stories are the threads that bind us across cultures, time, and place. They reflect our shared humanity and reveal truths that resonate across generations. By embracing tales from the Germanic world (and sister nations), we celebrate the diversity and commonality of our histories, finding in them lessons that speak powerfully to our lives today.

A Gathering of Tales that Transcend Boundaries of Time and Geography

In this festival, we have gathered together tales from the Stone Age; the Norse; the Celts; the Slavs and the 'Enlightenment Western tradition'. This festival curates a collection of stories that explore universal themes and spark imaginations. Each tale, whether rooted in the ancient or relatively modern past, reaches beyond borders of geography and, more important, time itself, reflecting the vibrancy of the Germanic (and sister nations) cultural tapestry.

Join us for an Enthralling Day of Stories and Conversations

At the close of the day we invite you to take part in a Q&A session with our speakers, where storytellers, authors, and folklore enthusiasts come together to share insights, answer questions, and discuss the role of storytelling in a rapidly changing world. Whether you’re a devoted storyteller or a curious listener, there’s something here for everyone.

Come, sit by the fire of shared history and let the stories of the Germanic world come to life.
